MAR MENOR GOLF RESORT

Originally the first course of the group of Polaris World on the Mar Menor, near to Torre Pacheco it is a great resort. The first 9 holes were designed by Dave Thomas, par 37, 3275 meters and the last 9 holes were designed by Nicklaus Design, par 35, 2878 meters with wide fairways. There are a lot of differences between the 2 parts of the golf course, the first 9 has fairways and little rough, all its generous greens are protected by the large bunkers and by the water of the surrounding lakes. The second round is a typical Nicklas style with large fiarways and wide rough which is more forgiving for long shots, although bunkers are placed in perfect places to take in all the bad ones. Special mention to a spectacular lake that’s goes around 13,14 and 15, turning this part of the course into a grater obstacle, known by the local players as “amen corner” of Mar Menor.
