Blending the silence of golf with the roar of the Fallas: the ultimate plan for the modern traveler

Valencia in March smells not only of orange blossoms but also of gunpowder and tradition. However, beyond the Fallas monuments, the province has established itself as a paradise for golf lovers seeking exclusivity and great weather.

Parador de El Saler: Considered one of the best courses in Europe, designed by Javier Arana, this links-style course is integrated into the Albufera Natural Park, allowing you to play among dunes with the Mediterranean breeze as your main obstacle.

La Galiana Golf Resort: Awarded Best Golf Course in Spain in 2019, it offers a spectacular design fully integrated into the Mediterranean forest, with no urban constructions in sight.

Club de Golf El Bosque: A masterpiece by Robert Trent Jones Sr. located just 25 km from the city. It is a technical and fun course, famous for its fast greens and forest surroundings

Combining golf tourism with local culture is the best way to experience authentic Valencia: sporty in the morning, vibrant and traditional in the afternoon

March is a special month for Valencians; they celebrate the Fallas of Valencia in honor of Saint Joseph, traditionally known as the Fallas de San José. Although the festivities begin in late February with the Crida (opening ceremony), the main “Fallas week” takes place from March 15th to 19th.

During these days, various events are held, such as the Mascletà, a powerful pyrotechnic show held daily at 2:00 PM. The Plantà marks the moment when all the monuments are fully assembled in the city streets. On March 17th and 18th, the Ofrena (Flower Offering) takes place, where thousands of falleros parade in their traditional regional costumes to bring flowers to the Virgen de los Desamparados. On the night of March 18th, the celebration reaches its peak with the Nit de Foc, featuring spectacular firework displays. Finally, the festival concludes on March 19th with the burning of all the figures to bid the celebration farewell.

Hole 19: The Authentic Paella

No golf day in Valencia is complete without the world’s most famous “19th hole”: the Valencian Paella.

Paella originates from Valencia and is the most international dish of Spanish gastronomy; its birthplace is located in the Albufera of Valencia.

“Eating a rice dish facing the very rice fields where the grain grows is the perfect pairing to discuss the day’s best shots as the Fallas begin to light up the horizon”
